With the passing of the Jamaica Data Protection Act, it is important that communications, while being true to the mission, safeguard the privacy of not only our church members but also those with whom we disciple. It is in this context that the workshop seeks to explore the following elements:
- Understanding JDPA: Key provisions, rights of individuals, and obligations for our churches.
- Protecting Trust: How Adventist communicators can ensure confidentiality and respect for personal data while spreading the gospel.
- Digital Evangelism: Best practices for online communication, social media, and data handling in ministry.
- Faith and Compliance: Integrating biblical principles of honesty, respect, and stewardship with modern data protection laws.
The overall objective is to ensure that participants see data protection not as a burden but as part of their mission of responsible, ethical communication.
